Paddles Up! Team Roc ‘n’ Row take to the water for the Learning Disability Network London Dragon Boat Race

May 19, 2025 2 min read

On Friday 16th May, a 20-strong team from Roc Technologies swapped laptops for lifejackets to take part in the annual Learning Disability Network (LDN) London Dragon Boat Race—and what a day it was!

Hosted by our brilliant customer, LDN London, the event brought together teams from across the city to raise awareness, build connections and most importantly, have a whole lot of fun on the water. As long-time supporters of LDN London and proud partners in several tech projects, Roc was thrilled to get involved in a very different kind of collaboration—this time involving paddles, timing, and just a bit of splashing.

Flying the flag was our team, Roc ‘n’ Row—a crew made up of colleagues from across the business. Under brilliant blue skies and with the sun beaming down, Roc ‘n’ Row gave it everything they had across multiple races, showing grit, energy and some impressively synchronised paddling.

And the results? Roc finished a fantastic 4th overall, just narrowly missing out on a place in the final. While we might not have taken home a trophy, we did leave with big smiles, tired arms and a real sense of pride in what we’d achieved together. For many of us, it was our first time in a dragon boat and  – judging by the cheers and laughter – it definitely won’t be the last.

Beyond the racing, the day was a great reminder of the power of community. Huge thanks to the team at LDN London for organising such a fantastic day and for everything they do to champion inclusion and accessibility in the workplace and beyond. We’re proud to support LDN London both as a customer and as a cause we believe in — and we’re already eyeing the podium for next year!
