Smart City Strategy meets Smart Connectivity

Roc are pleased to share that we have been selected by Aberdeen City Council as their partner for the implementation of a transformed next-generation network across the Aberdeen City region, covering areas including council buildings and schools.

Delivering improved performance and wider connectivity across its diverse and distributed estate in support of their ‘Smart City Strategy’, the network transformation will enable Aberdeen City Council to provide advanced services on both wired and wireless connected devices utilising a secure, agile platform.

Enhancing the learning experiences of 26,500 learners and the 8000 educators and council staff across 166 sites within the region.

Aberdeen City Council’s solution will be based upon a Juniper Networks solution that harnesses the AI and automation capabilities of the Juniper Mist Cloud.

Iain Pilbeam-Cornfield of Aberdeen City Council commented: ‘We did a very successful proof of concept with Juniper to prove the technology. Throughout our selection process for a partner, Roc demonstrated its experience of delivering secure network solutions and services in the Public Sector. Their knowledge of the Juniper solution combined with their proven track record of network transitions made them the ideal partner for the Council.’

Gemma Lloyd, Director of Operations at Roc added: ‘We are excited to be working in collaboration with Juniper and the Aberdeen team to deliver some great results across the Aberdeen region in aid of the Council’s key strategic initiative.’
