This engaging role as a Quantity Surveyor will support the commercial and contractual management of a portfolio of infrastructure projects.
Tasks will include:
Managing the commercial resources of the assigned projects through the placement and control of contracts. Ensure the teams are supported commercially and are working as per contracts and all claims have been documented and submitted in time
Valuing work executed by the team, creating and submitting quotations, and submitting payment applications and final accounts
Assessing, reviewing, and mitigating commercial and contractual risks and implementing the companies' policies for risk management
Provided commercial and contractual expertise to contracts, which included the production and submission of valuation certification, drafting and issuing correspondence, claims, budget monitoring, and producing contract/workstream performance data. Support the submission of project variations/CEs and ensure all information has been submitted to support timely assessments. This includes estimating and pricing of works and supporting tender submissions
Compiling the monthly measurement of KPIs and reporting
Providing robust, timely and accurate cost and value data for both projects and their progress in relation to the programme schedule
Quote and submit variations/CEs to ensure accuracy in submission and monitor all responses
Confident in building relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally, explicitly focusing on engaging with our Customers, drawing upon their knowledge of the requirements, and encouraging the team to deliver as per contract
Be able to problem solve & be creative in finding solutions
Independently working alongside the team & communicating your commercial expertise to internal stakeholders
Previous experience in commercial management and procurement, including chairing regular risk reduction meetings, measurement and control cycles, certificates, and accrual calculations
Ability to use spreadsheets to interpret and collate financial data
Working knowledge of NEC forms of Contract
