Role summary

The day-to-day supervision of installation teams carrying out works to deliver customer projects.

Direct responsibility for the welfare of the engineering resource, ensuring installation documentation is completed, assisting with site surveys and quotes.

Key responsibilities

  • Assisting in achieving the P&L

  • Assisting in quotations, detailing man days and material requisitions

  • To ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions and services and ensure that the highest level of client satisfaction is achieved

  • Act as an escalation point for issues found during delivery

  • Regular and effective communication within the Delivery team

  • Manage installation team during delivery.

  • Undertake and resolve fault calls

  • Maintain day to day contact with Facilities, Work Area Managers, WCC and installation teams.

  • Liaise with line management to establish relevant stock control and materials management

  • Ensure all relevant administration is achieved on time i.e., shipping requests, work permits and site access

  • In conjunction with Sales assist with site surveys and provide feedback/assistance to costings

  • Maintain customer communications during delivery

Experience & Attainments

Essential
  • Experience in supervising staff in a customer environment

  • Experience of terminating fibre op-tic cables (cold cure and splicing)

  • Experience of terminating copper cabling (Category 5e, category 6 etc)

  • Experience of testing both fibre op-tic and copper cables using Fluke Testers

  • Good knowledge of current installation practices

  • Ability to work as part of a close team to high standards of workman-ship

Desirable
  • Experience in the installation of containment systems (both Steel and PVC)

  • Knowledge of OTDR testing would be an advantage.
