Day to day supervision of the infrastructure services implementation teams(s) conducting works to deliver customer projects and requirements. Direct responsibility for the welfare of the engineering resources, ensuring installation documentation is completed, assisting with site surveys, rams, co-ordination plans and quotations.
Scope and plan works – as per project installation methods
Complete and ensure all relevant h&s documentation is available, understood, and adhered to
Management of materials required for works
Setup site & maintain site as per the rams
Complete point-of-work risk assessments and ensure safe systems of work are reviewed and carried out before work commences and that any risks are communicated to the team
Complete all plant inspections, including power, hand tools, and test instruments, ensuring that they are in good and safe condition, and that any defects are reported to the plant hire company or line manager
Report any misuse or inadequate first-aid facilities during working hours
Set a personal example, including the wearing or use of protective clothing or equipment as appropriate
Ensure all safety measures which are in place apply to third parties and sub-contractors
Check all permits and ensure that they are relevant and appropriate for the scheduled works
Update all relevant project information as detailed in the job packs issued to them
Ensure that all plant is stored, used correctly, and on charge after use
Make sure that all processes as detailed out in the project folder/job pack are adhered to and reported on
Report incidents which have led or may lead to injury
Quality assurance – completion of qa docs
Daily shift update reports at the end of each shift
Assist team, where required, with:
Network cabinet installations
Primary & secondary containment system installations
Installation of cat6 or cat6a horizontal cabling solutions
Termination, testing & labelling of cat6 / cat6a solutions
Network switch and wireless access point installation
Copper patching
Installation of fibre optic cable both internally & via pit and duct routes as required
Termination, testing & labelling of fibre optic cables
Fibre circuit patching & troubleshooting with the use of an otdr
Experience of terminating fibre optic cables (cold cure and splicing)
Experience of terminating copper cabling (Category 5e, category 6 etc)
Experience of testing both fibre optic and copper cables using Fluke Testers
Good knowledge of current installation practices
Ability to work as part of a close team to high standards of workmanship
Knowledge of OTDR testing would be an advantage
Good leadership and motivational qualities

This role is to be based within the North West of England. Whilst primarily associated with a single customer campus, there may be a requirement for travel across the North should customer demand require it
