After a successful first year the Roc 10K will take place again next year as local IT company Roc Technologies confirms its full support for a second year. While this year’s sponsorship was jointly run between Roc Technologies and The Good Exchange, next year will see solo sponsorship from Roc, and be supported by race technology partner HPE Aruba. The race will take place on Sunday 26th May 2019.
The race, which raised £13,354.96 last year, is in it’s 12th year and will be run in conjunction with Newbury Athletics Club. As with every year the money raised will be spilt between Newbury Athletics Club and local Newbury charity, which is yet to be decided.
CEO of Roc Technologies Matt Franklin said, “We’re absolutely delighted to sponsor the Roc 10K again this year and now become the sole sponsor. Roc Technologies is proud to be a Newbury based fast growing business, and being part of the local community and supporting sport participation is something we are especially proud of. I was so proud to see over 800 runners participating this year, with an especially high turnout of young runners. The Roc running team also did particularly well, and my sister winning the women’s race was icing on the cake of a memorable day. Next year’s race will be even bigger and better and we want to bring a digital and technology edge to the race to help promote it but also create even greater inclusion and excitement.”
Newbury Athletics Club Chairman Bob Broadbridge said, “We are delighted that Roc Technologies will be joining us again. Together we can make this years’ race even bigger and better than before!”
Roc was formed in 2011 and has since become one of the UK’s fastest growing and capable Digital Transformation Services Providers, empowering organisations in the public and private sector to accelerate business and technology change.
