Role Summary

A Junior Cyber Security Analyst supports ROC and our customers in understanding and researching the cyber threat landscape, helping to build our ability to protect, detect, and remediate.
The role holder will be passionate about embarking on a long-term, challenging career in cyber security, with a willingness to learn from senior team members, as well as to use their initiative to suggest ways to tackle internal and external incidents proactively.
Initially, the role will be focused on conducting low-level tasks as part of ROC’s cyber security offering, namely:

  • Assessing audit and assessment results and creating customer-facing documentation

  • Conducting basic triage on security incidents and customer requests

  • Joining internal and customer-facing calls to develop an understanding of our capabilities, requirements, and feedback

  • Supporting the Head of Cyber Security with administration

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the research of cyber threats

  • Carry out basic analysis of threat intelligence

  • Contribute to methods to detect and protect against cyber threats

  • Help ensure efficient and effective SOC operations

  • Help build ROC cyber products and services for customers

  • Support cyber advisory services for ROC customers

Knowledge & Skills

Essential
  • Basic Cyber Security concepts

  • Basic knowledge of Cyber Security tools and technologies

  • Basic understanding of Malware concepts and types

  • Basic understanding of Cyber risk management

  • Ability to communicate basic analysis to customers

Desirable
  • Scripting, for example Python or Powershell

  • Malware analysis

  • “Kill Chain” analysis

  • Penetration Testing knowledge

  • SIEM and / or log analysis

  • Packet capture experience

  • Cloud infrastructure familiarity

  • Interest in geo-political relationships with Cyber Security
